Stuttgart: Guide
Stuttgart er hovedstad i den tyske delstaten Baden-Württemberg i det sydvestlige Tyskland. Den har ca. 590 000 innbyggere (2003).
Stuttgart er et viktig jernbane- og motorveiknutepunkt, og har også en viktig havn ved elven Neckar.
Byen er velkjent for sine mange høyteknologiske bedrifter. Den er en av de viktigste og rikeste byene i Syd-Tyskland.
Stuttgartregionen har den største tettheten i Tyskland når det gjelder vitenskapelige, akademiske og forskningsrettede arbeidsplasser. I byen finnes det to Universitet|universiteter, åtte Høyskole|faghøyskoler, to Max-Planck-institutter og et antall andre forskningsinstitutter.
Stuttgart, som er hovedsete for Porsche og DaimlerChrysler, betraktes som en av verdens fire største «bilhovedsteder». De andre er Toyota i Japan, Detroit i USA og Torino i Italia.
