Fokaia: Guide
Fokaia (eller Phocaea, i dag det moderne Foça i Tyrkia) var en Jonia|jonisk by i antikkens Hellas på Lilleasias vestkyst. Antagelig er byen mest kjent for at det var herfra at den Hellas|greske kolonien Marseille|Massalia (det moderne Marseille i Frankrike) ble grunnlagt.
Fokaia var et viktig senter for handel og sjøfart. De hadde antagelig handelsforbindelser med den greske kolonien Naucratis i Egypt (sannsynligvis grunnlagt fra Fokaias naboby Milet|Miletos), og de medvirket ved grunnleggelsen av Samsun|Amisus ved Svartehavet.
