Llangollen: Guide



Llangollen er en liten by i Denbighshire, Wales. Den er kjent for Llangollenkanalen, som forbinder byen med Nantwich i England. Elven Dee, Wales|Dee renner gjennom byen.

I 1908 var byen vertskap for den nasjonale Eisteddfod. Senere har man startet med en årlig den internasjonale eisteddfod|internasjonal eisteddfod i Llangollen.

Rainhillkonkurransen, en test av damplokomotiver som ble utført ved Rainhill utenfor Liverpool i 1829, ble gjenskapt i Llangollen i 2002. Dette ble gjort på Llangollenbanen, en gammel strekning som nå er en turistattraksjon.
